Medical imaging has become an essential component to the delivery of comprehensive health care in Nova Scotia and across the country. Medical imaging’s many modalities (e.g. X-Rays, MRIs, Ultrasound, and Electrocardiograms) enables health care providers to view and analyze the interior of the body to determine the appropriate medical treatment and care.
The availability of timely and accurate imaging enhances the delivery of patient care and outcomes. Nova Scotia Health Authority's Information Management & Technology team provides support and coordination of medical imaging applications including:
- Picture Archiving & Communication System (PACS)
- Nova Scotia ECG System (NSES)
